Beginner Spinning *
The first Tuesday of every month, at 9:15am. Sign up at the desk. Dates: May 5th, June 2nd, July 7th, August 4th, and September 1st. This class is designed for beginners and first time Spinners. It is a 45 minute class.
High Intensity Ride
This class can help you beat fitness plateaus and enhance your overall fitness. You will be challenged by jumps, hills, sprints and power drills.
Endurance Ride
An endurance training session trains the body to be more efficient at metabolizing fat and maintaining a comfortable pace for extended periods. The emphasis is on finding a comfortable heart rate and pedaling style that can be maintained for hours. More time is spent in the saddle in an endurance ride than in any other class.
Interval
Interval training sessions emphasize speed, tempo, timing and rhythm. Movements may include high RPM (but never above 110) pedaling on the flats, acceleration drills and recovery stretches. The goal of the Interval Energy Zone training is to develop the ability to recover quickly after work efforts and can be done by people of various abilities.
Hill Climb
You can't ride anywhere in the valley without facing a hill, and the Hill Climb class will prepare you for the challenges they present. Through visualization and hard work the hills will become easier as you learn how to embrace them.
Intro to Spin/Recovery Ride
This 30 minute specialty class will focus on setting you up correctly on the bike, explaining the basic components of a ride and will focus on the mind while circulating blood and oxygen throughout the body. There are no big hills or extended jumps and the goal is to leave feeling energized and refreshed.
Testimonial
I started taking spinning classes at Cranmore Fitness Center with Andy in December. What a great workout. Along with the music and his creativeness, it was a fun way to peddle away the winter blahs. I had a few events in my mind I wanted to do in the spring namely the Crank the Kanc and the King Pine Triathlon. During the race I felt strong. When I crossed the finish line, I had taken 20 minutes off of last years time. I was psyched. I finished very well in the Triathlon also. So I definitely attribute the spinning workouts at Cranmore with my success in these events.A must if you want to hit the road in the spring without the usual weeks of getting into shape and the pain that goes with it.
